Holistic Art Therapy Association is a membership-based association. Created to help old and new art therapists come together to share learnings, build skills and continuously improve in order to offer the best Art Therapy has to offer to the world. HATA builds associations with other professionals in complimentary fields, organises talks and trainings for the members and holds supervisions for the professional members so that they continue to learn, exchange, grow, collaborate and contribute to the profession’s development. HATA also hold the professional members accountable to the highest professional and ethical standards so that the clients interest is always at the heart of the practice.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Life Long Learning Programme (LLP) The annual on going training for the practitioners is held in Mumbai and online and comprises of Leila Tayebaly and a host of guest speakers ranging from psychotherapists to doctors and teachers. These continuing professional trainings enable the members to build advanced skills and competencies, enhance their techniques, deepen their knowledge and keep abreast of new trends in the field.
WORKSHOPS
HATA regularly invites practitioners from complimentary fields to hold hands on workshops for the members in order to gain skills and learn new techniques and concepts that would add to the repertoire of the art therapist.





COMMUNITY
Through the quarterly meetings and regular supervisions that are offered members are able to seek help, share learnings and stay connected with other colleagues.
TRAINING
From 2024 HATA will offer short modules to introduce and train people in the foundations of Art Therapy. A longer four year training program in the arts and therapy is currently underway and will culminate in 2024. The training encompasses in depth knowledge and application of the wet on wet painting technique, colour theory, biographical studies and psychopathology, pedagogy and more.
If you are 26yrs or more and have an interest in art and understanding the human psyche and the biographical journey then you are eligible to apply for the next training which will commence in 2025. One year of painting in an art therapy workshop with a therapist and completing the foundation modules is a prerequisite to apply for the longer training. No prior training in or exposure to art is necessary to join the classes or do the foundation modules.
